This Privacy Policy describes how Stepora ("we", "our", or "us") handles information when you use the Stepora mobile application ("the App"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring you understand how your data is handled.

            Privacy Commitment: Stepora is designed as a "Local-First" application. We do not require account registration, and the core health data you input is stored exclusively on your device.
        

1. Information We Collect

A. User-Provided Information (Stored Locally)

To provide accurate step counting, calorie estimation, and water tracking, the App requests the following information:

Name (optional nickname)
Weight and Height
Age and Gender

Storage: This data is stored locally in an encrypted database on your device. It is never uploaded to our servers.

B. Health & Activity Data

With your permission, Stepora accesses activity data (steps) from your device sensors or system health platforms (Apple HealthKit / Google Fit). This data is used only to calculate and display your progress within the App.

C. Automated Data Collection (Third-Party)

To sustain and improve our service, we use the following third-party providers:

Firebase Analytics: Collects anonymous usage metrics (e.g., screen views, session duration) to help us improve app performance.
Google AdMob: Displays advertisements. AdMob may use device identifiers (like IDFA or Android Ad ID) to serve personalized or non-personalized ads.
App Store / Play Store Billing: Handles all In-App Purchases. We do not see or store your credit card details.

2. Data Retention and Storage

We do not maintain a central database of your personal health metrics. Your data retention is governed as follows:

Personal & Health Data: Retained on your device for as long as the App is installed.
Analytics Data: Aggregated, non-identifiable data is retained by Google Firebase according to their standard retention policies (typically 14 months).

3. Data Deletion (Your Rights)

Because we do not store your personal data on our servers, we provide the following methods for you to exercise your right to deletion:

            How to Delete Your Data:
            In-App Deletion: You can modify or clear your personal metrics (Weight, Height, Age) at any time within the App Settings.
Application Uninstallation: Deleting the Stepora App from your device will automatically and permanently delete all locally stored databases and information.
Third-Party Data: To opt-out of personalized advertising, you can reset your Advertising ID in your iOS or Android system settings.

        

Note: Once the app is deleted, your local data cannot be recovered by us, as we do not keep backups.

4. Children’s Privacy

Stepora is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect or maintain any personal information from children via our third-party analytics or ads.

5. Compliance (GDPR & CCPA)

While we do not collect "Personal Data" in the traditional sense (no email/identifiable accounts), we respect the principles of the GDPR (EU) and CCPA (USA). You have the right to access, rectify, and erase your data, which you can perform directly on your device by editing or deleting the App.
